From Script to Stage is an immersive theatre workshop where children experience the full process of creating and performing a play.

Led by Mohd Hammad Farooqui, this workshop takes participants from idea to performance. Children begin by developing scripts through group work, drawing from personal experiences, observations, and shared themes.

These narratives are then brought to life through dramatics. Participants explore blocking, movement, voice modulation, stage presence, and timing. They rehearse, refine, and perform their pieces as short productions.

The workshop emphasizes collaboration, empathy, and ownership. Children learn to respond to each other on stage, adapt in real time, and build confidence through performance.

What children explore:

• Scriptwriting and narrative development

• Character building and stage presence

• Voice modulation and body language

• Blocking, rehearsal, and performance

• Team-based theatre-making

Mohd Hammad Farooqui is a veteran theatre educator with over 35 years of experience at The Doon School, where he has served as a teacher, Housemaster, and Head of the Hindi Department.
