Light, Space, Action is an advanced design workshop where visuals move beyond the page and into space, interaction, and experience.
Led by Ansh Kumar, this session introduces children to projection, mapping, and interactive visual systems. Participants use projectors, laptops, and software tools such as MadMapper, TouchDesigner, and Tagtool to bring their visuals into real environments.
Part of the Yaksha Young Creators Summer Programme, 2025, Children projected their animations onto surfaces, experimented with scale and distortion, and mapped visuals onto objects. They also explored how visuals can respond to sound, movement, or touch using tools like Leap Motion controllers.
The workshop introduced the idea of design as an environment rather than an object. Participants begin to think about space, audience interaction, and how visual systems can become immersive and responsive.
What children explored:
• Basics of projection and projection mapping
• Using tools like MadMapper, TouchDesigner, and Tagtool
• Syncing visuals with sound and interaction
• Motion-based interaction using Leap controllers
• Designing responsive visual installations
• Integrating visuals with physical space
