IMMERSIVE DESIGN LAB WITH ANSH KUMAR
The Immersive Design Lab at Yaksha explored how images evolve — from something drawn by hand to something that surrounds you.
Participants began with analogue processes, working with screen printing, flipbooks, and hand-drawn visuals. These early exercises focused on understanding how images are constructed — frame by frame, layer by layer — and how movement emerges from stillness.
Guided by Ansh Kumar, the lab gradually expanded into digital space. Students moved into animation and projection mapping, using tools such as MadMapper, TouchDesigner, and Tagtool to translate their drawings into light-based environments.
What began as ink on paper extended onto walls, objects, and surfaces. Visuals responded to space. Drawings became installations. The work was no longer something to look at — it became something to step into.
The lab was not about learning tools in isolation, but about understanding how visual ideas scale — from a page to a room, from a sketch to an experience.
